Between Times and Between Us, Curated by Georgina Ruff

The artists of Between Times and Between Us generously offer tender, important, difficult, crucial, celebratory, universal, and honest works that bridge differences and extend connections. The works stem from subjective experiences yet invite the viewer to find their own resonances, without insisting on particular interpretations. In being both brave and vulnerable, the ten artists of the Between Times and Between Us cohort make the personal a communal experience.

Participating artists in this exhibit are: Davis Bashungwa, Nan Curtis, Jess Farrell, Joyln Fry, Diane Jacobs, Carter Kawena Kohler, Marne Lucas, Casper Mayberry, Trude Parkinson, and Gabby Serverson

There will be a closing artist roundtable discussion facilitated by Georgina Ruff, exhibition curator, on June 28, 2-4 pm.

About the Curator:

Georgina Ruff (PhD) is an art historian, writer, researcher, and collaborator focused on modern and contemporary art, technology, installation, and the viewer's experience. She teaches at Pacific Northwest College of Art and Umpqua Community College and is a staff writer for Oregon ArtsWatch. Georgina is a Board Member of the New Media Caucus, a member of the Media-N editorial board, and the founder of MFA:NW, an organization that supports recently graduated MFAs and rural Northwest arts ecologies. Her current research focuses on the possibilities of malfunctioning tech-based artworks and how viewers become participants, interpreters, and informers.
