Minnesota Street Project Art Services provides a comprehensive, concierge-based art collection management service to private collectors, galleries, and institutions. Adhering to the best art handling practices, we document, inventory, store, and present artwork in conformance with museum standards, working with an extensive network of affiliated providers to crate, ship, conserve, and appraise client artworks. Our 50,000 ft2 storage facility features state-of the art environmental-control, security, and fire safety systems, as well as an attractive and comfortable viewing room and photography facility. 

Minnesota Street Project is seeking a full-time lead art handler with expert customer service, art handling, packaging, and transportation skills to join our team of arts professionals.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Enthusiastically and diplomatically leads the art handlers in the field; exhibits a friendly and approachable demeanor with clients and acts as a positive ambassador for the overall Project.
  • Handles and installs artwork at private offices and residences, as well as in our viewing rooms and galleries; professionally secures and transports artwork, all in accordance with museum standards.
  • Assists the registration department with barcoding and condition reports; expertly stores and tracks artwork in our warehouse, as well as our vehicles, in accordance with museum standards.
  • Anticipates shipments and takes all necessary steps to streamline the incoming and outgoing processes.
  • Ensures strong communication is facilitated and that deadlines are continually met.
  • Attends weekly department meetings, as well as occasional programming events at 1275 Minnesota Street.
  • Keeps warehouse consistently clean and useable, bringing a proactive approach.
  • Inventories supplies and administers reuse/recycling policies and performs other related duties as required.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA in Visual Arts, Humanities, Art History or equivalent required; MA preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a museum, gallery or art shipping organization; demonstrated expertise in art handling techniques and storing protocols.
  • Art transportation and shipping knowledge; ability to drive a 16 – 24’ box truck. 
  • Experienced operating warehouse equipment (VRCs, forklifts, scissor lifts, and pallet jacks) a plus.
  • Ability to quickly identify and resolve problems, ensuring projects stay on schedule.
  • Demonstrated concern for detail, accuracy and precise execution of work; excellent communication skills, both verbally and written.
  • Works well independently and in a team; gracefully shifts between warehouse, client and office settings.
  • Valid CA license and willingness to deliver and install artwork on a moment’s notice.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and safely cart artwork within a ½ block.
  • Proficient with PC and Mac operating systems, including Adobe and Microsoft Suites and FilemakerPro.

  • Liaise with HNW collectors in the London market.
  • At least 5 years of high end art sales experience required. 

100k OTE is perfectly achievable.

  • You’ll be experienced at liaising with HNW collectors in the London market. Naturally you’ll demonstrate excellent networking skills including developing relationships with museums and institutions. You’ll represent this blue chip gallery at art fairs, art business events, and auctions. You’ll be supported by a Sales Director, Junior Sales Associate, and Operations Manager. Moreover you’ll support satellite shows in overseas markets such as Shanghai and Hong Kong. As well as strong high value art sales experience you’ll bring energy and a hunger to hit the gallery sales targets. You’ll get excited about your share of the commission pool. 

This is a pro-active strategic sales role.

  • Develop your sales pipeline creating sales strategies to sell art works to existing clients as well generating new clients for the gallery.
  • Create and nurture institution relationships so as to place works in important art collections.
  • Represent the gallery at art fairs, art market business events, and auctions as well a satellite shows in overseas markets such as Shanghai and Hong Kong.

We are seeking a Gallery Operations & Fulfillment Manager to become an integral part of our team! You will coordinate and oversee each gallery's fulfillment.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage sales invoices and other accounts receivable, monitor and process incoming payments, etc.
  • Maintain accounting records including invoices, expenses, payments and transactions
  • Serves as the primary point person for daily incoming orders

High-end Fine Art Service seeks a full-time employee for its crate shop. Experienced crate builder with an extensive hands-on background in the field is preferred. Ideally crater will be familiar with the varying elements involved when packing and crating fine art, but those with advanced woodworking skills will be considered. Those with carpentry, construction, or art fabrication experience will also be considered. Strong work ethic, attention to detail and the ability to work well with others are essential.

High-end art handling company seeks a meticulous and professional candidate to fill the position of Office Worker as an administrative support role within the Billing department.

Daily tasks will include but are not limited to: 

Scanning

Data entry

Printing

Filing

Invoicing

Emailing

Client correspondence 

Supply orders

General office support as needed

The ideal candidate will exhibit a consistent and extremely thorough attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and an analytical mind. As a member of this team operation, you will be expected to shoulder an increasing amount of responsibility as your experience level within the company grows.

The ability to double check and proofread ones own work is a must, as is the ability to build a working knowledge base through committing repeated scenarios to memory. Position requires excellent communication skills, both written and oral.  Accuracy, efficiency, prioritization, and self-organization are necessary attributes.

Arts background (BFA/MFA) is preferred. While this position is entry level and you will be trained in company procedures, prior experience working in a similar administrative support role within an arts-related organization is preferred. Familiarity with Macs, FileMaker Pro, Word, Excel, Photoshop and Illustrator is a plus.
