Respected, family-owned modern and contemporary fine art gallery in San Francisco seeking an energetic, efficient, organized and detail-oriented Gallery Assistant to begin immediately. Applicant should have a positive attitude, a strong and reliable work ethic, professional manner and presentation, and excitement to work, learn and grow in this industry. Previous experience and knowledge is preferred but may not be required based on a case-by-case review. Tasks range from greeting guests, administrative data-entry, and supporting sales consultant conversations, to exhibition hanging/preparation, shipping/packaging artworks, and tidying gallery for opening/closing. The right candidate may grow into a sales position with the gallery and earn additional pay through commissions.

Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to: greeting clients; maintaining gallery contact list and inventory databases, shipping and receiving records; organize and execute exhibition announcements; light art handling, packing and shipping preparation; Prepare shipping documents (e.g., FedEx) and track shipments; filing/maintenance of artist archives; maintenance of gallery website; working knowledge of social media marketing and Constant Contact; maintain supply of sales support materials (printed visuals, press articles, etc.); maintain office supply inventory; able to format and create custom envelopes and labels; assist senior staff with event planning/production/documentation; light cleaning of gallery; miscellaneous projects as needed; Assistant to Owner of Gallery; must be very well organized and able to support keeping the owner organized.

Our Gallery Assistant will work a regular schedule and also additional hours supporting special exhibition events and our participation in art fairs, assisting us with tasks ranging from physical exhibition installation and removal to inputting marketing materials and social media campaign information.
Salary: Hourly pay (medical insurance available after positive 90 day review)
Schedule: 4 days a week, including Sundays; shifts either 11-6 or 10-5pm

Undercurrent is an art platform that provides local and international contemporary artists a forum to explore critical issues within art and culture in New York City. The gallery is seeking an intern to work on a part-time basis, 1-3 days per week, Thur-Sat, 1– 7pm,  and to assist with all daily operations at the gallery.  We are located in DUMBO at 70 John St., Brooklyn, NY.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

-Providing general administrative support and maintenance

-Occasional availability for evening programs and events

-Punctually opening and closing the gallery

-Manning the front desk/entry

-Greeting visitors

-General administrative responsibilities and gallery maintenance

-Responding to visitors requests and forwarding further requests to staff

-Knowledge of Adobe programs, (Photoshop, Illustrator and/or InDesign a plus)

-Knowledge of video editing is highly desirable

 

This gallery will provide an excellent opportunity for interns who are interested in gaining professional experience and learning the inner workings of a not for profit art space. Interns may also have a chance to go on studio-visits and meet artists.

The ideal candidate must be motivated, proactive, responsible, personable, and detail oriented.

We are seeking a Gallery Operations & Fulfillment Manager to become an integral part of our team! You will coordinate and oversee each gallery's fulfillment.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage sales invoices and other accounts receivable, monitor and process incoming payments, etc.
  • Maintain accounting records including invoices, expenses, payments and transactions
  • Serves as the primary point person for daily incoming orders
  • Speaking with photographers on a daily basis
  • Dealing with our framing company
  • Knowing about stock in hand and best selling items
  • Streamline packing materials
  • Updating inventory across all channels in real time
  • Allocate resources and materials to meet project deadlines and budget
  • Track and forecast operational trends and analysis
  • Provide daily operations oversight for outside teams
  • Transferring sales information into the accounting system

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in gallery operations (photography gallery preferred)
