Parasol Projects is seeking a Summer Social Media intern to work two/three days a week. In this internship, you will be able to grow and engage in a network of artists, gallerists and fashion brands.

Requirements:

  • Proficient in all social media platform, Lightroom/ Photoshop, and other editing software
  • Great photography and video skills
  • Demonstration in managing and growing social media accounts with 10k+ followers 
  • Strong knowledge and passion for the art and fashion industries 
  • Background in marketing and/or communications

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage social media accounts
  • Post once a day to Instagram/FB stories with curated and scheduled posts (using Buffer or other relevant platforms)
  • Regram relevant content on Parasol’s accounts
  • DM potential clients through a list of targeted brands/designers
  • Interact with followers to increase engagement and visibility and grow our following on each platform, using appropriate methods and social media tools such as Tag Scout
  • Track and capture incoming sales inquiries via social media. Respond appropriately and forward to Sales Manager when needed.
  • Attend Parasol client events to capture content. Create 30-second recap movie clips and short stories.

Blogs/Press

  • Research articles about Pop Ups and contact the writers to inform them about us.
  • Collect press and mentions of Parasol and clients (to be added to Dropbox and Website)
  • Write one short blog post a month (300-600 words) coordinating with our Marketing Manager

Unpaid Internship / Meal Stipend and Subway Transportation Included

Social Media & Marketing Internship at Dancewave

Dancewave seeks an Intern to assist the Communications, Marketing & Design Coordinator in the promotion of our exciting calendar of classes, performances, events and initiatives including the Moving Together Series at Brooklyn Bridge Park, Summer Dance Camps and Intensives, Dancewave Through College & Beyond (DTCB), and more. Skills cultivated during this internship will assist aspiring individuals pursue a career in events, arts management and marketing/social media engagement.

HOURS: This is a part-time, 15-20 hours/week position for six months. Selected candidate will work primarily at Dancewave’s office in Gowanus, Brooklyn, NY, with occasional off-site visits.

ORGANIZATIONAL BACKGROUND: Dancewave provides access to a community dance experience that encourages individuality and whole-person development throughout New York City and beyond. Through innovative programming we use dance as an expressive vehicle for transformation.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Create friendly and accessible social media coverage of Dancewave’s events
  • Translate promotional images and video content into exciting promotional graphics
  • Assist in event photo and video documentation for social media, advertising and promotion
  • Research new online marketing techniques and experiment with new ways to leverage social media platforms
  • Organize internal data and information, including digital files and social media insights
  • Ability to apply new ideas to a template while staying on-brand

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Required:

  • Highly detail-oriented with exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge of and interest in social media platforms: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter
  • Proficient in Google Suite (Google Drive, Sheets, YouTube)
  • Willing to occasionally travel off-site to photograph Dancewave programs and events
  • Ability to be flexible and willing to assist in other tasks as assigned
  • Must be available for some (preferably all) of the following dates:
    • July 14 & August 11, 2019 – Moving Together Community Dance Class Series at Brooklyn Bridge Park
    • August 19-23, 2019 – Advanced Summer Dance Intensive with Gallim
    • October 5-6, 2019 – Dancewave Through College & Beyond

Preferred:

  • Background or interest in dance and the performing arts
  • Familiarity with Constant Contact, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, and video editing programs
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics, Ads and Brand Accounts
  • Ability to take quality, in-focus photographs with good composition

ARTISTS at RISK (AR) is looking for an enthusiastic and committed English-language native speaker (or equivalent) to join our team.

With experience in communications, social media and copy editing, you will be an individual and collective player who wants to build and develop our expanding institution while broadening your own horizons. Independent copywriting, copy-editing, social media and artist-liaison work are part of the core responsibilities.

The ability to write clean, accurate copy in contemporary idiomatic English is crucial. A keen eye for detail is a must. Experience in the fields of the arts and human rights are an advantage. Extra languages are a plus.

Dance/NYC’s mission is to promote the knowledge, appreciation, practice, and performance of dance in the metropolitan New York City area. It embeds values of justice, equity, and inclusion into all aspects of the organization. It works in alliance with Dance/USA, the national service organization for professional dance.  Dance/NYC seeks to add a key part-time associate to provide support for its social media efforts, its website (www.dance.nyc), and customer relations.

Communication Assistant Duties, and Responsibilities:

  • Create timely and high-quality content for Dance/NYC social media accounts (Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn) that reflects the voice and mission of Dance/NYC and that amplifies and supports overall communications.
  • Ideate with the team to create engaging social media campaigns that support Dance/NYC goals and initiatives.
  • Schedule posts in advance as needed, monitor engagement, and interact with followers where appropriate.
  • Provide live social media coverage of Dance/NYC and affiliate events by capturing content including photo and video and posting on site.
  • Provide administration and support for other Dance/NYC marketing and communications initiatives including

                -The external website Dance.NYC (content updates as directed).

                -E-communications (weekly e-newsletter, advocacy alerts, special bulletins), including drafting communications and managing the schedule of e-blasts as needed.

  • Provide customer support to Dance/NYC's growing online user-base, in particular managing info@dance.nyc and media@dance.nyc accounts and responding to inquiries on a daily basis.
  • Provide support in the ongoing development of Dance.NYC and related database technologies primarily with regard to importing lists/qualifying contacts in NEON CRM.
  • Assist in the production of both print and electronic institutional marketing material and ad placements, including material on Dance.NYC.
  • Complete quarterly analyses and reports of social media and e-communications.
  • Track pro-bono advertising.
  • Other duties to support the communications area as assigned.

Qualifications: Ideal candidates will have relevant prior marketing and communications experience and be comfortable using Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, CRM Software (NEON), Google Applications, social media platforms (Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and Hootsuite), and HTML.  They will be methodical and detail oriented, with excellent planning and time management skills, and be able to advance multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.  They will be current on and comfortably engaging with emerging technologies, and demonstrate a commitment to technology solutions in the social enterprise space.  They will be well versed in the arts and cultural landscape.  Bilingual candidates preferred.

Location: The Dance/NYC offices are located on the Garden Floor (ground floor) of the Mertz Gilmore Foundation, in the Gramercy Area of Manhattan.  Access to the Garden Floor entrance includes a two-step descent. A lift to the entrance will be available in the coming months. An accessible bathroom is available onsite, and elevators are not available in the building.
