Clever Octopus Creative Reuse Center promotes creativity & community engagement through upcycling & art education. Divert clean industrial discards working with local businesses & manufacturers.

 

Member Duties: VISTA Reclaimed Materials Coordinator will (1) develop partnerships with existing & new material donation partners; (2) seek novel reclaimed materials with reliable uses for our low-cost and free educational programming; (3) develop initiatives to facilitate financial donations from material reclaim partners to support local manufacturers' environmental goals while sustaining our program; (4) update online processes and protocols for materials reclaim; (5) identify current materials’ strengths & challenges, revise & add new materials partnerships as needed; (6) create a process to automate material donations, follow up, and repeat donations; (7) join the VISTA team for all outreach & tabling needs at sustainability events, art festivals, college campuses, & more to promote COI; (8) engage in community workshops & talks & skill-building programs related to non-profit management.

Member Duties: VISTA Artisan Business Development Coordinator will (1) create living wage jobs for people with barriers to employment (ABD team); (2) develop partnerships with existing & new business partners; (3) research, develop & implement training modules for ABD team; (4) create a tracking & evaluation system for applicants, candidates, and selected ABD team members; (5) create & implement effective outreach strategies to recruit members with barriers to employment; (6) research similar existing programs, evaluate strengths & challenges, & present best practices; (7) create a wholesale catalog to present COI-produced artisan products to buyers; (8) research & consider online sales strategies & platforms; (9) research & evaluate national reach potential; (10) join the VISTA team for all outreach & tabling needs at sustainability events, art festivals, college campuses, & more to promote COI; (11) engage in community workshops & talks & skill-building programs related to non-profit management.

Member Duties: VISTA Development Coordinator will (1) develop & manage strategic plans to secure funding from local, regional, & national corporations, foundations, & government sources & complete likelihood of award analysis using & updating the COI grant decision process; (2) research, write, & coordinate grant application processes; (3) organize grant calendar & Google Drive folder & steward current partnerships; (4) create effective proposal content with quantitative research & meaningful grant reporting; (5) develop & send reports, correspondence, & thank-you letters to funders & other stakeholders; (6) share the mission & community impact of COI; (7) market, maintain, & coordinate the COI mini-grant program; (8) develop sustainable giving strategies; (9) join the VISTA team for all outreach & tabling needs at sustainability events, art festivals, college campuses, & more to promote COI; (10) engage in community workshops & talks & skill-building programs related to grant-writing.
