Description:

In this workshop hosted by collective.aporia, we will explore globalization and the effect it has on our communities - new technology in the time of Covid and what it means to create our communities and find our places in this time and place in history. We will do this through photography and other visual art as well as poetry, prose, and hybrid forms of writing.

The main goal of this workshop is to allow us to bring about a sense of agency in this time where it may feel as if we have no control, to remind us to keep playing and keep creating, no matter what the canvas looks like. In the process, we may find a whole new type of community and sense of place in this course.

Materials needed:

  • Any kind of camera; cell phones are appropriate
  • Other visual art materials as desired - paint, ink, pastels, charcoal, pencils, markers, crayons, and paper/canvas, etc
  • Notebook, pen, digital device
