- About -

Lindsay Garcia is a performance artist and a doctoral candidate in American Studies at William & Mary. Her artwork and scholarship engage with anti-racist and feminist new materialism, animal studies, eco-criticism, and queer theory. She received a BFA from RISD (Sculpture), an MFA from SUNY Purchase (Visual Arts), an MA from Sotheby’s Institute of Art (Contemporary Art), and an MA from William & Mary (American Studies). Garcia’s dissertation entitled “Reimagining Pestilence: Visual Culture and Anti-Racist Materialist Approaches to Human-Nonhuman Entanglements” investigates visual and textual depictions of the interweaving histories of subjugation between humans and animals at the margins. She has exhibited her artwork in far-flung locations across the United States and published in Lateral and Arcadia with more to come. Garcia lives, works, and teaches between Greencastle (IN) and Scarborough (ME). www.lindsaygarcia.com // www.feministpestcontrol.com
