Loretta Ana Kaufman to Exhibit in the National Association of Women Artists Historical to Contemporary – Then & Now

Loretta Kaufman’s acrylic painting “Animated Forms III (Leaning Toward the Light): Circle of Life Series was selected to be part of NAWA’s exhibition at Monmouth Museum in New Jersey March – May 2022.

The exhibition was open to all NAWA members nationwide working in oil, acrylic, encaustic, photography, mixed media, collage, sculpture, assemblage, prints, pastels, watercolors, mosaics, ceramics.  There will be 15 historical works from 1900 to 1980 from the Zimmerli Art Museum collection at Rutgers University and 50 contemporary works from current members.

Empowering women since 1889, with a current membership over 800, NAWA is the first established professional women’s art organization in the US.  With a mission to continue its long-standing tradition of supporting relevant women artists from all over the nation.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Kaufman is a painter in sculptor in Nashville, Tennessee.  Her 2D and 3D work has been exhibited in South Africa, Canada, the United Arab Emirates and South Korea.  In 2020 the Tennessee Arts Commission curated a retrospective encompassing paintings, works on paper, sculpture and collage.  Some recent awards are an Honorable Mention in 2022 in NAWA’s exhibition Healing for an acrylic diptych at the New York Public Library in Manhattan; the Memorial Medal of Honor Award for her sculpture in 2020 in NAWA’s Annual Exhibition; and the Cutting Edge Award for an acrylic painting in NAWA’s Annual Exhibition in New York in 2018.  Loretta’s paintings and sculptures have been exhibited and won awards in Fusion Art’s international exhibitions since 2015.  Her oil painting was published in the book of poetry ‘Gate Posts With No Gate – The Leg Paint Project’ in 2018 which carries an endorsement from author and curator Sean Hemingway.
