1: Cutting Through in a Crowded Space

Take your work and professional profile to the next level. Learn how to navigate the art world effectively, build your reputation, sell your work through galleries, and fund your next project.

The morning workshop is led by visual arts producer Kath Cockshaw who has worked with emerging, mid-career and high profile artists since 1998. Each course section is designed to help you realise specific goals, supported by the afternoon Social Media Workshop:

• Your Route to Success: Identify what you want to achieve, where you want your work to appear, and the tools and steps you need to take to get there

• Mapping Today's Art World: This workshop gives a birds-eye view of different types of display and sales spaces on and off-line, and how to access them

• Show and Sell: Get the low-down on working with galleries, art fairs and marketing representatives, and learn ways to manage your/ their expectations

• Funding Your Next Step: Consider the options for funding your next project or exhibition, and learn the secrets of successful crowdfunding.

2: Social Media Workshop

2 PM – 5 PM

Build your confidence and make social media work for you. Learn the vital skills you’ll need to promote you and your work from experienced marketing professionals.

This three hour social media workshop, designed for beginners/ intermediate level users will be delivered by digital marketing professionals Sean Buchan and Chris Bettles. The session will enable you to become more proficient and comfortable with social media so that it becomes a more steady, enjoyable part of your creative process.

Assuming some basic knowledge of social media, we will teach you how to:

• Build your confidence online with sound advice and hands on practice to develop your skills

• Discover which social media platforms are best for you, how to use them effectively and efficiently – and, importantly, how to have fun along the way

• Learn how to develop an authentic voice online, get noticed by the right people, build and engage with relevant audiences, and create interesting, original content to promote you and your work.
