Be ambitious, be seen, be celebrated

Presented by the AOI in partnership with USA based Directory of Illustration, the World Illustration Awards are presented in a refreshed format for 2020, offering illustrators the opportunity to have their most ambitious work seen and celebrated!

The Awards are open to professional and new talent illustrators living and working in any country in any format and media.

The competition is judged by an independent jury across ten exciting, refreshed categories representing work being made in the industry today. New categories include Book Covers, Science & Technology, and Design, Product & Packaging.

500 illustrators will be longlisted, and featured on the AOI Website.

200 shortlisted entrants will be presented in a digital and print publication sent to commissioners worldwide, and presented in a new-look exhibition at Elephant West, one of London’s most exciting cultural venues.

This incredible exposure often leads to new clients, commissions and illustration jobs.

The Overall Winners will be presented cash prizes sponsored by Winsor&Newton at the Awards Ceremony, to be announced alongside the Category Winners, who will each take home a coveted WIA Trophy. In addition, four Cross-Category Awards will be presented this year, including a new Innovation Award, recognising work that truly pushes the boundaries of the artform.

Deadline: 18 February 2020
