Statement :

The subjects I choose are commonplace with a distinct Britishness about them. Elevating the mundane and trivial rituals that we cherish everyday is a driving factor in my work. I stage and photograph my subjects with particular attention to contrasting textures and materials, in order to create a more vivid and life-like artwork.

Quote:
"As practice makes perfect, I cannot but make progress; each drawing one makes, each study one paints, is a step forward." Vincent Van Gogh

Fried Egg & Ketchup
A pure colour pencil drawing of a fried egg and ketchup. This oily, crispy fried egg unapologetically smothered in ketchup is everything that art is traditionally NOT supposed to be. ubiquitous, ordinary and distasteful. I hope that it rebelliously brings joy to whoever sees it.
