Statement :
My practice is rooted in an ongoing process of growth and change. I have always been fascinated by the complex tapestry of human experiences - how we adapt, disguise and redefine ourselves in our quest for survival or acceptance. This interplay between external appearances and inner essence is central to my perspective. Intuition allows me to reveal what lies beneath societal masks and physical bodies. Art should provoke thought, stimulate reflection and encourage dialogue. My work applies abstraction as a tool to confront discomfort, to create pathways for unfiltered introspection within myself and my interactions with others. I see discomfort as a vital necessity in pursuit of 'the' authentic moment where artist, canvas and observer converge. My vision embodies this sense of intermediacy - to unsettle, connect and ultimately to transform

Bio:
Born and raised in London, Tara Sahajpal, is an emerging visual artist working primarily in painting, with occasional exploration into installation. She graduated with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from ual Chelsea College of Arts, where her practice evolved through an intuitive, process driven exploration of the interplay between material, surface and paint. Her practice is rooted in an ongoing, physical process of transformation, where each painting evolves alongside her. Through this process, she navigates what lies beneath societal masks and physical appearances, revealing insights that shape both her thinking and making. As a recent graduate she is thinking about her role as an artist beyond the studio, as a catalyst for social, political dialogue and change. Her practice strives to seek evolving dialogue, open to new ideas, perspectives and ways of seeing.
