Statement :

My work explores the interplay of sound and color, investigating the connection between visual painting and electronic music. This exploration reflects my deep engagement with painting as a medium to express emotions and internal states. I find particular interest in the impulses that emerge through form and space in electronic music. Four-on-the-floor beats, rapid rhythms, and powerful basslines serve as symbols that transport me emotionally to new realms.

Performances in nocturnal techno clubs are places of encounter, freedom, and ecstasy. These experiences and sensations directly influence my paintings, where I translate the dynamics and intensity of the music into visual form, creating a bridge between sound and color.

I have often pondered why I am able to DJ in clubs and celebrate electronic sounds today. This question led me to delve into the history of electronic music and its machine-based sounds. Highlighting the role of women in the history of electronic music is particularly important to me, as their contributions are often overlooked or underestimated. It is essential to me promote the visibility and audibility of women to create a more balanced and diverse perspective. I specifically research women who have been significant and influential in the history of electronic music and incorporate their legacy into my visual worlds.

"What if I could paint sounds, see or feel tones?" This question drives my exploration. The connection between sound and color can evoke specific moods or feelings, enhancing the emotional experience of an artwork. Harmonious combinations of sound and color can create a more intense emotional encounter for viewers, whereas discordance between these elements might evoke confusion or discomfort. Ultimately, the impact of this connection depends on the individual viewer's perception and interpretation.

ECHOES HUE
The series consists of two pieces titled "Daphne Oram" and "Laurie Spiegel," which are part of a collection named "Echoes Hue." Inspired by these pioneering women of electronic music, I explore the fusion of visual art and electronic sounds. My work "Echoes Hue" expresses this connection and investigates how the experience of sound and color can influence the emotional resonance of an artwork. This interdisciplinary approach aims to illuminate the interaction between auditory and visual stimuli in art and their impact on the viewer.
