Statement :

My current artistic explorations are focused around my collection of art catalogues. The catalogues are disassembled and pieced together again. Pages painted over, whole catalogues gashed and torn up. Art becomes material, these catalogues rearrangement an examination of the influences that shape their distinctive artistic visual realms. The overpaintings exhibited here are part of this eclectic process of appropriation, assimilation and transformation, and hark back to a catalogue of 19th century Japanese painting and a BFF annual.

Bio:

Odo Hans works as a freelance artist, initiates the Reclaim Award and operates a science blog on the subject of thinking. In his work, he uses strategies to resolve media redundancies and normative structures. From Stereotype to Monotype. Current publications are EPI and Body becomes Body.
