Whamandamn

My artistic practice is born from a constant tension between instinct and reason, between gesture and thought, between the need to tell the truth and the temptation to conceal it. Each work emerges from this inner conflict: on one side, raw, spontaneous, unfiltered impulse; on the other, rationality, learned aesthetics, technique, and control.

I  deliberately use two contrasting visual registers to represent these opposing forces. Graphite, harmonious and refined, stands for reason — comforting yet less sincere. Wax pastel, with a childlike and imperfect stroke, symbolizes instinct — raw, unsettling, but deeply truthful.

Many of my works feature icons and symbols from different art forms — figures suspended between stylistic perfection and complicated, imperfect lives. I’m fascinated by this fragile space between form and substance, between art and biography, between surface and truth.

I believe truth lives in imperfection. Instinct does not lie, does not ask for approval. That’s where real beauty hides.

My artistic research aligns with the path traced by Cy Twombly, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and the spirit of Art Brut, where gesture becomes revelation, not just expression.

Through my work, I invite the viewer into this space of tension between chaos and control — where, even briefly, the truth beneath the surface may be revealed.
