Statement :

As an artist I seek to explore more about the nature of Universe, consciousness, divinity , life journey and energy around and inside us. I admit that our universe is crossed by invisible flows and currents which are found and influence the artworks of each artist. I am mesmerized about the subtle things, which are not things, thoughts, emotions or sensations, the nature of our reality and our interpretations of it due to many labels that impose different perceptions, behaviours and ways of being.

I have developed my painting technique following the lines of abstract suggestion. It is required that the viewer comes with the contemplation, feeling and interpretation. I usually prefer using acrylic on canvas as a medium and material. The green color is present almost in every painting because, for me, it is about life force, rebirth, aliveness and finding my inner self. Art is divine, it is love, peace, stillness, balance, harmony, joyfulness, it makes me whole and a much more spiritual being. The focus of my work is the colors, shapes and structures, which I want to integrate in a certain harmony in order not to imitate, dictate, compare, repeat, model or compensate.

My paintings speaks not only for me, but for people who are in a deep process of transformation and who are seeking to find life again.

Swimming among thoughts
The last two years have been very difficult for most people, because there was an unknown threat, there were so many restrictions, so many adversities that they had not encountered, so the mental response of each person was different because of his way of reacting to these unusual things. Labels, their way of thinking, their perceptions, emotions, values and principles made them see reality in a certain way. The "swimming between thoughts" was created in March, 2021 and is about our way of seeing this provocative reality, our mental and emotional response to collective deaths, stress, worries that could shake our mental stability. We need to be balanced in every way to help ourselves and the other people around us. We need to cultivate increased thoughts and emotions to overcome the fear, worries and stress that can weaken our immune system and create more weakness for the virus and also more deaths. Positive thinking, love and compassion are needed to overcome this great global challenge. We need to show the world our humanity, our mental and emotional stability, and our integrity. acrylic and marker on synthetic board mounted on stretcher frame/ 100x140 cm
"Maya" was created in the same month. In Hindu philosophy, Advaita Vedanta, maya is the limited reality, purely physical and mental, in which our daily consciousness has become entangled. Maya is believed to be an illusion, a cover of the true, unitary Self - the Cosmic Spirit, also known as Brahman. In order to have good mental health, mind and inner peace, it is necessary to see things exactly as they are, to regain control and power over our lives, not to give them to external circumstances, people or our negative thoughts and emotions. I think this is the right time to show compassion, to moderate or even better diminish this feeling of separation between people based on so many labels. Our health depends on giving up suffering, separation, conflict, unhealthy competition. We have to work together, show empathy for the people around us, despite their beliefs. In this way, we give up and free ourselves from suffering, fear and prevent the occurrence of mental health problems. acrylic marker and pastel on paper, 29.7x42 cm

Ana Maria Guta was born in Onesti, Bacau, Romania, on January 20, 1990, shortly after the fall of communism and lives in Constanta, Romania. She spent her childhood in the countryside with her adoptive grandparents, who gave her a lot of unconditional love and the freedom to explore nature and to establish authentic relationships with the environment  she came in contact with. She seeks solitude, inner peace and comprehension that have been found in nature.

She studies natural sciences at the “Vasile Alecsandri National College”, Bacau, Romania, and then she goes to Iasi to study journalism and mass communication at “Alexandru Ioan Cuza University”. After two years of journalism, Ana renounce at university because she can not express herself as she would have liked and does not want to be part of a world where there seems to be less ethical values and truth.

“I remember wanting to be more when I was little, but the first word I said to the curious people who asked me this question was painter. Then came the nun, the skater, the doctor ( but I was afraid of blood ), the journalist and the gymnast.", says Ana.

As a teenager, Ana Maria, works in different fields, learns new skills, where she seeks to be able to express herself through creativity and to serve human interests. After giving up a career in a fine jewellery multinational, in 2019 she decides that she needs to express herself doing what she loves the most, what her soul loves, try to express what she feels, thinks and tell her own truth.

Thus, she pursues her childhood desire to be a painter and also a holistic energy therapist, which can be interpreted as a meeting between a nun and a doctor. The paths of destiny are mysterious. Ana wants to contribute to changing the world for the better, to inspire and give love, courage and hope through her art and to give compassion and help through holistic energy therapy as many people as possible.

In the field of the art, Ana Maria Guta is a self-taugh artist. As an emerging artist, Ana seeks to explore more about Universe, consciousness, divinity, life journey and energy around and inside us. The visions, dreams and feelings are transposed in a very expressive way that shares the emotion energy of that unique present moment creation to the viewer, to send him into another world, without any kind of limitations. She loves to analyze the hidden parts of our indentities, through an immersive experience inside the universe of the complex labyrinths of our consciousness. The influences found in her art are from abstract art, nature, spirituality, the Universe, works by Vincent van Gogh, science, abstract expressionism, conceptual art and contemporary art.
