Statement :

My work essentially explores the dimensions of consciousness in human awareness with its internal and external stimuli as a response to the societal, environmental and personal experiences. Art has offered me solace, healing and a source if constant learning in this ever changing world. My work predominantly is split in two styles, the Botanical series "meditation", which reflects my meditative state and the abstract series "Fragmented Transmutation", which shows a more structured and meticulous side of my work. I have had the honor to showcase and exhibit my works in Italy, Germany, China and UAE.

The mediums i choose ranges over a diverse platform from canvas, paper, acrylic, watercolor to coffee and ink, with traditional tools like brushes and palate knives, smooth and textures, using gestural abstraction techniques to intuitive techniques. The works created are predominantly led by intuition and higher creative awareness evolving at every stage of my life. From minimalistic to detailed meticulous works, there has been a natural inclination to express and heal myself at the same time, in order to align to the higher purpose and achieve greater creativity with the help of energy healing. Through visual self study, i have been able to curate my own painting techniques that are original.

I find my work is freedom from norms of the universe created and within that I find art and creativity as a language of freedom, with no set formats or stern types, that creativity is free from all and linking it back to life , as its only oneself, who can create the difference in ones life.

Aligned
In this work Kim portraits the alignment of a human vibration to a higher frequency of the universe. The birth of this series was to share her response to life altering experiences, that changed her in significant ways. When she finally took the leap of awareness in the presence of genuine support, that authentic experience broke all patterns for her and she started to experience life in a different light. How all those elements react with each other and played along is what she has tried to visually express. During that journey she decides to direct her mind, soul and being towards positivity, that brings her infinite abundance of creativity and life. Understanding that all one needs is love, unconditional love, love for oneself and love for others. In this series of work Kim uses acrylic as the base, adopting gestural abstraction as one of the techniques, along with brush and palette knife to create the layers. Led by intuition, minimalism, love and trust that form the basis.
The Clown
This work depicts Kim's fighting spirit. she says, " In the midst of troubled times she often feels amused with a fighting spirit", she further adds, "we all have a a choice either we sit, ponder and be pessimistic or we let it go, works on the tools we have, which each one of us can adopt indoor to bounce back and fight with a optimistic spirit. The choice is yours and so are the consequences!" She always aims towards opting for a life abundant with flow of energy and positivity with love and trust, irrespective the circumstances one may come across or go through their lives. The work was created in year 2020, the year that changed lives all over the world.
Transition
"As everyone travels through time and times of Covid-19, they have in one way or another, gained experiences that have served all of them a purpose," explains Kim. One must allow themselves to experience emotions of deep magnitude which enrich their souls and take them further closer to their purpose in life. The birth of this series was to share her response to life altering experiences, that changed her in significant ways. Balance
This series of Botanical paintings is a result of meditative and energy healing practices (reiki, quantum and intuitive healing), that, leads to a calmness that allows space for creativity to grow and brings about clarity in vision. It is nature that she connects with at this stage and the gratitude she experiences towards the elements of the environment, which are otherwise, ignored, is what she has expressed in these works. in this series Kim uses watercolor , coffee, acrylic and ink as a medium. Botanical art is painting of leaves and trees to as true as it could be. These are plant portraits. in botanical art, painting is always scientifically and botanically correct but not necessarily complete. More emphasis is placed on the aesthetic value of the plant or leaf or flower. the leaves she chooses are the ones from her garden, mango tree leaves, desert rose leaves, money plant leaves etc the ones she finds herself most connected to. She blend in the reality with the abstract. The energy healing (reiki, quantum and intuitive healing) and meditation are the inspiration behind these works. It is nature that she connects with at this stage and the gratitude she experiences towards the elements of the environment, which are otherwise, ignored, is what she has expressed in these works. These works came to her intuitively says kim, once she starts it just flows like a life force.

Bio:

As an artist I feel my purpose is to kindle the desire to explore oneself and the limitless potential we all carry within ourselves.”
- Kim Oberoi

Kim is an Indian born contemporary artist based in Dubai, her experiences have passionately led her as a painter with an extensive international portfolio of exhibits including Italy, Germany, Chin and UAE. Kim is largely a self-taught painter, evolving everyday with each stroke of paint. Her work essentially explores the dimensions of consciousness in human awareness with its internal and external stimuli as a response to the societal, environmental and personal experiences.

The influence on Kim's work is her dedication to meditative and energy healing practices. Her work comes to life as a powerful form of expression and self healing. With an ability to elicit spiritual revelations, her work is directed through mystic energy flow. Her art reflects her response to life and life altering experience with emphasis on concept and design while simultaneously depicting different phases of her life in every aspect of her creativity. Kim's father played an integral role in encouraging my creative side, she grew up admiring his geometrical sketches of women.

Art is "a mind map freedom", Kim feels that her work is freedom from norms of the universe created and within that she finds art and creativity as a language of freedom, no set formats or stern types, that creativity is free from all and linking it back to life , as its only oneself, who can create the difference in ones life. As an avid traveler who has been fortunate enough to see 120 destinations across the world, she has found ultimate solace in the lap of art inspired by different people and cultures. Art becomes a common language that speaks to everyone regardless of his\her culture, race or religion. Kim has become a visual communicator, she finds this to be the strongest means to connect societies , encourage dialogue and create harmony. She feels every artist is a global citizen, who plays a key role in changing the narrative, enabling exchange of ideas and creating impact at a global level.
