Statement :
Georgina Hartley-Willows is a contemporary artist who recently transitioned from a teaching career to pursue her passion for art, following the birth of her child. Specialising in bold acrylic landscapes, her work is characterised by intense colour palettes, dynamic compositions, and a distinct use of palette knives to create rich textures. Though the colours are typically abstract, she grounds viewers with a realistic level of detail.
Inspired by the beautiful surroundings of her hometown, each piece reflects a deep connection to the environment. With a focus on trees as the lifeblood of our planet, her compositions often feature leading paths, inviting viewers to step into the landscape.
Alongside her landscapes, Georgina creates equally vibrant wildlife paintings. These colourful animal works capture character and playfulness while maintaining her signature bold style, offering a fresh perspective on the natural world.
So much of life today feels grey and dull, having lost its charm and beauty in favour of sleek modernism. Georgina aims to bring back the joy with colour, using art to help people reconnect with nature and emotion through bold, expressive pieces.

Aurora
Inspired by witnessing the awe-inspiring natural phenomenon known as the Northern Lights last October, Aurora embodies the emotion, the calm and magic I felt as she sits alone in the cold night, contemplatively looking out over a frozen lake, the sky swirling with colours overhead.

Arctic Fox
Inspired by witnessing the awe-inspiring natural phenomenon known as the Northern Lights last October, I decided to create a collection of winter animals, alone under the colourful sky, highlighting the vastness of the natural world and how we make up one miniscule part of it.
