Statement :

"White Knight" is a deeply personal exploration of love, life, and loss following my father’s passing from a brain tumor. Using a vaseline-coated lens, I blur each image, mirroring the cognitive fog of his final months and the way light distorts through tear-filled eyes. Red and blue hues evoke the duality of life and death, while chosen objects, like an mussels and wine, reflect personal memories I shared with him. Employing only in-camera techniques like lens masking and ghosting, I create an unfiltered tribute to his memory and an intimate meditation on the universal experience of loss.

Bio:

William Josephs Radford is a Spanish/British photographer celebrated for his innovative and sometimes controversial work, which explores complex themes of beauty, decay, and societal taboos. Using techniques like long-exposure photography and "light painting," he creates striking visuals where vibrant colors highlight dark, introspective themes. Radford’s series *Deflowered*, for instance, illuminates flowers with light from explicit content, symbolically merging beauty with obscenity to challenge viewers' perceptions of purity and provocation. Known for his minimal post-processing approach, Radford carefully stages each composition to prompt personal reflection, making his work both visually engaging and intellectually provocative.
