Statement :

Having always been inspired by natural elements, it is no surprise that I prefer to work with untreated papers, raw canvas or even distressed or unfinished wood. The texture, weight and characteristics of a materials surface have profound effects on the way a piece will look and feel. The marriage of the medium and the subject matter are most important to me as they can give life to the piece. The unity is unique.

Most recently, I have been exploring basic human emotions and the expressive characteristics of the human form. Simple, yet bold, I play with the dramatic contrasts between black and white, subject and medium. Each piece is an expressive, emotional creation that emerge from a specially treated background. Development of my pieces walk hand in hand with the spiritually conscious energy of the subject matter. The pieces have the power to take her audience on an intense, sometimes emotional viewing experience.

“As artists, we open ourselves to feel, conduct and then create what we ingest mentally. My goal is to honor what I feel and convey to the audience to the best of my ability, the same visual and emotional experiences.
