Parme Marin

Born in paris in 1985, lives and works in nyc.

Parme marin is a visual artist known for her expertise in leather and wood. the visual rhythm of marin’s sculptures and paintings are realized in her emphasis of the tactile materials and surface, whether it be through monochromes, color combinations or by implementing volumes, curves, and folds. for ten years, she has cultivated enduring partnership’s with moroccan artisans to help her consolidate her vision. she finds inspiration in natural shapes, textures, and colors, the 1930’s and bondage aesthetics. since she is self taught, she has no technical boundaries and thus explores without limits.   

In 2013, marin founded her eponymous line of eclectic accessories. she successfully developed a brand with a strong vision and identity. in 2015, she began designing for hermes atelier petit h and worked with top craftsmen in leather. her designs have been featured with celebrities like beyonce and emma watson. over the years marin has been shifting her practice from the fashion industry into her fine arts practice and studied figure drawing and printmaking at the art students league (2019-2021) and participated in new york city crit club (2021). she has been in solo exhibitions such as my tribe at the four seasons, marrakech, morocco (2014), sur mes trace, park hyatt, new york, ny (2015), and at hermes paris, france where she created unique work of art by using discarded materials for hermes - petit h.(2015–2022). she has exhibited in numerous group shows including artists for animals, brooklyn, ny (2021) and instaselect v.2, mark borghi, sag harbor, new york (2022). her designs have been featured in vogue, surface magazine, elle décor it, and many more. she has collaborated with accomplished companies such as clarins, antonio marras, la mamounia and the reformation. she was the winner of the baby brand paris contest (2013), part of the vogue italia talents (samsung award) (2013), and was elected in the top 16 best shoe designers by wwd (2016).
