With Staged Stills, I have used a common photocopying machine to create staged tableaux with found objects and myself as subject. Each image acts as a small theatre where unique portraits are revealed. I am drawing from a wide spectrum of sources including: mass media, mythology and popular culture. These images consider how representations of women have influenced our perceptions of stereo types. I use historical and traditional archetypes and am using a machine of corporate culture to produce art concerning feminine issues. This body of work continues my experimentation of non-traditional photographic equipment in an attempt to broaden the ways we depict identity.
