City:

The attached series, "ISOLA",  is a dreamy sequence of photographs depicting scenes of Filicudi, an island that sits outside of Sicily and is almost always deserted (only 235 people living on the island) besides the few visitors that come each Summer. Like many volcanic islands, Filicudi is lush with new life and greenery while at the same time barren with desert landscape. The Island carries with it, feelings of isolation, loneliness and beauty. These images act as a reminder for the volcanic activity and energy that created this island and the planet itself-as a metaphor for rebirth in a time where death feels ever-present. These images are visually, both a reminder and a respite, from current feelings of isolation and questions of mortality.

A single plant sprouts up from the island's surface with the backdrop of a seemingly infinite sea.
Tip of a volcano amidst swirling clouds.
