Statement :
Since 2017, I have been painting my self-portrait every year, and I will always imprint my current life situations and moods in each of them. My self-portraits are always very symbolic and you have to know me very well to understand them, and as my favorite painter Frida Kahlo said: „I paint self-portraits because I am so often alone, because I am the person I know best.“
Self portrait with mirror (You only see what your eyes want to see)
Mirror - reflection of negative people and things (in mirror reflection, it's me without editing).
Blood on hand - cut by mirror, sacrifice for viewers and critics.
Clothes - the last dress of my beloved grandmother, who had been ill that time, and she for the last time went outside with her friends, it means to me respect, strength, brave, survival, and faith in who I am.
Moon landscape-a feeling of loneliness in Earth, endless creativity, bliss, peace and self-care.
Stars - the constellation of Sagittarius-my horoscope. Sometimes, what we see isn´t that simple.

Lion-majesty, strength, courage and justice.
Monstera is a symbol of a long life and the honouring of elders and respected people in my life.
Marantas-the reflective action of a daily prayer of gratitude for the gift of being able to paint, which I am endowed with.
My naked body-exposure, vulnerability and weakness.
Piranhas-representation of courage, appreciation and life.
The animals shown in this paintings imitate life itself, which tries to push me to be a better person and to give me the courage not to be afraid of life.
Bio:
Krystof Novotny lives in the Czech Republic and paints from an early age. After high school, he decided to study Art History because he wanted more space for curatorial work. Now this painter is trying to fully start his artistic career, open a studio and things related to him. Last year he finished the exhibition What It Feels Like a for Girl tries to capture a woman's life in twenty oil paintings. Now, he is working on a new exhibition called 4x4 focused on abstract erotic paintings, which will be completed in May 2021.
