Perspectives of Atlanta

Everyone experiences a different version of the same place due to personal circumstance, place in life, etc. We are inviting local and regional artists to explore and interpret their own unique experience of Atlanta through their artwork. Our modern-looking Atlanta art space is located in downtown Atlanta, GA, and we want to fill it with different versions of the city people experience through art.

We welcome artists who are working with painting, photography, drawing, sculpture, or mixed-media. Contemporary and fine art styles are welcome to show the version of the city you see through your eyes.

We treat artists as superstars, and we curate the exhibition for artists. We will accept new series and ideas and wait for artists to finish the pieces before the show.

Inspired by the Weight of Object

2023 INSPIRED BY Exhibition: The Weight of Object

For this exhibit the curators are asking artists to consider how size, perspective or repetition of an object as compositional can be interpreted. Take into consideration the position, the angle or the visual weight of an object within the picture plane and how this impacts a viewer’s understanding of a work.

Inspired by an Object

In 1964, Jasper Johns wrote himself a note: “Take an object. Do something to it. Do something else to it.” Since then, this set of instructions has referred to artwork that uses everyday objects and other non-fine art materials and describes the revolutionary approaches to art-making that developed from the early 20th century to the late 1950’s,1960’s, and beyond. For this exhibit, artists are invited to submit work in any medium and in any genre including abstract. However, an object must be used as the primary subject and inspiration of the work.
