2026 CRE8IV Sculpture Biennial

GoRockford supports and elevates public art through CRE8IV, a nationally competitive program that places large-scale, accessible art in highly visible public spaces throughout the Rockford region. Artists selected for CRE8IV gain year-round exposure within one of the Midwest’s most expansive public art collections, experienced by both residents and visitors.

The CRE8IV Sculpture Biennial is a two-year outdoor exhibition. Started in 2018 with 8 pieces, CRE8IV currently features 34 sculptures, with 11 works permanently acquired, demonstrating a strong commitment to artists and long-term public investment in their work.

2026-2027 Sculpture Garden Exhibition

Duration: Sculptures will be on display for 12 months from installation in May 2026. Artwork must remain on display for the entirety of the exhibit.

Stipends: Artists will be provided with an exhibition stipend totaling $1500 (one thousand five hundred), paid $750 on completed installation and $750 on completed deinstallation.

Awards: Three cash awards will be given: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes ($2500, $1500, $500).  These awards will be announced at the opening reception. Award money will be distributed within 30 days of judging.
