METAVERSE ART RESIDENCY

Loop Art Critique, is a program offering residencies and public showcases for artists. Our unique approach involves an Open Call where artists submit their work anonymously, allowing for impartial selection based solely on the artwork itself. Loop Art Critique operates primarily in the virtual space, with most submissions being digital artworks.

The standard residency spans six weeks, with live critiques twice weekly for three hours each session. The program accepts international participants and features a one-month public exhibition.

Collide Copenhage

Arts at CERN and Copenhagen Contemporary welcome proposals for the second edition of Collide Copenhagen. Artists and collectives from any country are invited to submit their proposals for a fully-funded two-month residency shared between CERN in Geneva and Copenhagen Contemporary.

The selected artist will devote this period to artistic research and exploration, in dialogue with physicists, engineers, and laboratory staff. After the residency, a development phase will follow, during which the artist will define and produce an artwork to be included in an exhibition at CC in 2025. Throughout this journey, artists will receive curatorial support from the Geneva and Copenhagen teams.

Akunumustiǂis (Natural Law) - Ecological Engagement Through the Seasons - 2023

Overview

This four week residency engages eight visual artist participants in a land-based, observational learning that will support the artist to develop and create a project drawing from their artistic practice that will inform the cultural narratives of this region. The artists will have access to a studio to support the creation of their project.

The project is reconciliation-based through the empowerment of Indigenous artists, working with institutions through a process that allows for meaningful engagement with the land; including Banff National Park, Parks Canada and local Knowledge Keepers. Working together, the process encourages knowledge exchange and centres Indigenous ways of knowing.

Visual Arts Thematic Residency - Rewilding the Body Eclectic

Overview

Previously considered antiquated, in recent years figuration has positioned itself at the forefront of contemporary art. Artists interested in feminism, queer theory, and issues surrounding race and disability have challenged historical notions of representation of the human body, returning a lens of criticality to the subject rarely seen before. From sculpture to painting to photography, figuration has the potential to communicate the complexities of gender, sexuality, class, and identity, as well as humans' relationship to the natural environment and society at large.
