August PleinAir Salon Online Art Competition

The 14th Annual PleinAir Salon is an online art competition with 12 monthly cycles, and is open to a variety of mediums and styles. It’s not just for plein air painters! We invite a variety of top master artists, museum directors and gallery owners to judge each month. All monthly winners are automatically included in the Annual Competition where the Grand Prize winner receives $15,000 and has their painting featured on the cover of PleinAir Magazine, the #1 representational art magazine at Barnes & Noble.

In addition to a total of $50,000 in ALL Cash Prizes, winners receive exposure and recognition through our various magazines, websites, newsletters and social media platforms.

New Visionary Magazine, Issue 12

New Visionary Magazine, a publication by Visionary Art Collective, features contemporary artists, exclusive interviews with art world professionals, and valuable art career resources. Based in New York City, Visionary Art Collective aims to uplift artists through magazine features, virtual exhibitions, podcast interviews, and mentorship programs.

We are seeking artists of all experience levels to highlight in our upcoming issue. Selected artists will receive a 2-page spread, along with a custom article about their work written by our head writer.

Interchange

We invite artists from around the world to participate in our upcoming exhibition on the theme of "Interchange".
This open invitation seeks to show different interpretations and perspectives on how we perceive the world around us. Through various forms of visual and conceptual expression, we aim to explore the multifaceted nature of perception, challenging conventional notions and broadening our understanding and approach to life.

Nature Among Us

 

We are delighted to announce an open call for nature-themed photography and artwork submissions. This is a fantastic opportunity for artists and photographers to showcase their talent and share their unique perspectives on the beauty and diversity of nature. Selected works will be featured at the 2024 London Design Festival, as well as in our upcoming exhibition "Nature Utopia - Nature Among Us," highlighting how the beautiful nature around us exists and interacts with our daily lives.

Queer Men Artist Lab: New Orleans 2024

Kolaj Institute and Kasini House’s Art Meets History project are organizing a Queer Men Artist Lab: New Orleans, 27-30 August 2024.

Deadline to Apply: Sunday, 28 July 2024

The goal of the Queer Men Artist Lab: New Orleans is to equip artists with tools and strategies for picking up the unfinished work of history and speak to contemporary civic discourse around social, economic, and environmental issues. Through interactive sessions in the Lab and panel discussions, artists will explore their process and practice; present a slideshow of their work; receive supportive, critical, curatorial feedback about their ideas; and discuss contemporary issues. 

Collage Games Artist Residency

A week-long, in-person residency in which artists will explore how to adapt their collage practice to game design or incorporate games and play as a theme in their artwork.

Virtual Sessions: Monday, 26 August 2024, 4-6PM EDT and Monday, 9 September 2024, 4-6PM EDT
In-Person: 10AM on Monday, 16 September to 4PM on Friday, 20 September 2024

Deadline to Apply: Sunday, 18 August 2024
Submissions will be reviewed on a rolling basis until space is filled. Artists are encouraged to apply well before the deadline.
