NEW EDITION

When you commit yourself to creating a better world, you are most likely committing yourself to a lifetime of effort. This is the time when we should start hearing each other more than ever before, the polyphony of voices of this world should blur in a creative collaboration- virtual and material.

The choice of the artist - a different approach to environmental phenomena is determined by his natural characteristics. Ability to improvise and cut through established lines of thinking in a straight line, to embrace the multifaceted transposition that becomes a growing force influencing the vision of future values.

ESC OPEN CALL — JOEY RAMONE + VVOVVA

The third ESC open call and its challenge for wave #2031 Spring-Summer is here!

Thinking of the contemporary immersed in the digitalization world, once again VVOVVA asks artists to ‘Create art as you would do in 10 years in the future’.

In particular, we aim to share works that explore the relations of nature and technology; and seek answers to questions that research the bond of the two.

For example: What is to come? Will technology help nature to survive? Can those two exist in harmony? Do we do enough to preserve natural resources?

This time the contemporary art gallery JOEY RAMONE → (located in Rotterdam, Netherlands) will shape the future of the ESC and select the most interesting works in collaboration with VVOVVA.

Call for Chapbook Manuscripts

The A3 Press is looking for new chapbook submissions. Fiction, poetry, art, comics, illustration. All genres welcome. Deadline is 1 August, 2021.

The A3 Press is a place for work that's lyrical and intense, a bit weird, hybrid, experimental. We like work that is urgent, that says something about what it's like to be alive at this point in history.

Do you have a series of poems or short stories, or a long story that can be spread out over several pages? Maybe a short play in 12 parts or scenes, or even 12 very short plays? Do you have a combination of drawings and short stories? Poems and photographs? Maybe 12 drawings or photographs without text that would fit into our A3 map-fold format?
