Call for applications: Sommerakademie Paul Klee 2021/22

Up to nine residents are invited to join the Sommerakademie Paul Klee (SPK) program, curated by artist Dora García, and beginning 2 August 2021. Over the course of 2021 & 2022, the SPK features public lectures, closed-door seminars, and access to state-of-the-art infrastructure and technical support at the Bern University of the Arts (HKB) – but also teaching opportunities in the form of workshops at the HKB. In response to ongoing practical and political contingencies, this call is addressed to applicants residing within an approx. 1000 km radius of Bern. For the same reason, we are newly introducing the option of digital SPK residencies, from further afar.

Tough Art @ Home

The Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh (CMP) is dedicated to fostering the talent and innovation of artists as experience makers. The Tough Art Residency Program, that began in 2007, was approaching its 14th year of existence this summer. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the residency had to be canceled for 2020 season.

In light of that, we began to consider how we might engage our audience while the Museum remains closed. The Museum is always committed to working with artists to present excellent contemporary art to our visitors. Every year artists are invited to work with the museum through a multitude of programs and projects, and the Museum is committed to continuing this mission throughout the closure.

REMOTE INSTRUCTIONAL RESIDENCY

REMOTE INSTRUCTIONAL RESIDENCY

Crossed by the current context, we think in the necessity of researching the possibilities of the artistic work, bounded by the social distancing provisions we look for alternatives of coexistence through the artistic activation of our Shop- Window. Different voices have drawn our attention to the increasing vigilance and control by the state and society in general.
