The 2o's Take 2 - VR Online Exhibition

What a contrast! As we turn the corner to embrace the new 20s, looking back at a previous era of jazz, parties and celebration, we dream about getting together, long for moments of community and we miss each other. Artz ID is launching its first official open call to attempt to redefine the current status quo of isolation and distancing, and look to the 1920’s as a source of uplifting inspiration. For this online exhibition, ARTZ ID is looking for artworks celebrating notions of community, human interaction and the act of living.  The 1920’s, also known as the ‘roaring twenties’,  was a decade marked by stark contrasts  the Great War had just ended, peace had returned, and with it prosperity – although another war would break out not too far ahead.

Call for book title submissions

Open call for submissions. Looking for photographs or visual narrative material that relate to how two or more books/book titles from your personal library come into dialogue. Whether arranged as a couple or spread out, what discursive opportunities arise with the selection of books you have at hand? This is a relaxed exercise and should be quite spontaneous.

An example for a submission is found in the image:

-"Against What? Against Whom?"

-"Against Everything."

The submitted material will be gathered together for a small publication and there is a possibility for the books to be collected and exhibited at a site within the South London area.

Tough Art @ Home

The Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh (CMP) is dedicated to fostering the talent and innovation of artists as experience makers. The Tough Art Residency Program, that began in 2007, was approaching its 14th year of existence this summer. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the residency had to be canceled for 2020 season.

In light of that, we began to consider how we might engage our audience while the Museum remains closed. The Museum is always committed to working with artists to present excellent contemporary art to our visitors. Every year artists are invited to work with the museum through a multitude of programs and projects, and the Museum is committed to continuing this mission throughout the closure.
