Open Call for Curator

Invitation to submit new ideas from art curators, art historians, word magicians for a group art exhibition to take place in London from August 31st to September 4th, 2021.

We are manifesting someone who is keen to collaborate, create an exciting community of creatives together through this curatorial process. In this second edition, we aim to continue exploring pressing topics, rethinking social and political realities and create a dialogue between creatives in our show. Overview

Reciprocity

Juried by Collaborators Barbara Ciurej + Lindsay Lochman

Exhibition: March 4 - April 3, 2021

Final Entry Due Date: February 7, 2021 at 5 PM

Reciprocity is a relation of mutual dependence, action or influence. In photography, reciprocity refers to the relationship between the aperture (f-stop) and shutter speed, which work dependently and inversely to capture light. It is the key to the perfect exposure.

In reciprocal relationships, like in any collaborative act, ideas and conversations are exchanged, enriching participants intellectually and emotionally. Whether through aesthetic bond, mentor/mentee relationships, friendship, photographer/subject or teacher to student, our pursuits are sustained by these relationships.

2021 North Louisiana Virtual Residency

The Ross Lynn Charitable Foundation (RLCF) and the North Central Louisiana Arts Council (NCLAC) are excited to announce the 2021 North Louisiana Virtual Residency. From February 8th to April 2nd, this 8 week online residency will provide the virtual space and rhythm for artists to come together as a community and collaborate in pairs on new work.

During the 2020 North Louisiana Virtual Residency this past summer, we witnessed how the creative process allowed artists to constructively work through the challenges of the early stages of Covid-19 and give voice to their own experience. The residency offered a safe space to respond to the uncharted terrain of the time and foster a communal environment that helped guide their visions in their individual studio practices.

OPEN CALL - CROSSING, SPACE FOR TRANSFORMATION

Due to the effects caused by the COVID19 pandemic, the hosting of more than 40 international artists expected for our 2020 residency program at the Centro Negra has been affected.

Faced with this situation, we have decided to start a new initiative. Crossing – Space for transformation is intended for those who need a space to create, hold exhibitions or workshops, focus on analysis and/or promotion of their work, for those who wish to have a coworking office or the ones who want to take a temporary retreat in a space surrounded by nature and a lively artistic community.
