Restoring Hope/Restoring Trust Artist-in-Residence Expectations

The Factory Artists-in-Residence Program

The Artist in Residence (AiR) program takes place at The Factory on Willow which is a community for creators, entrepreneurs and innovators to live, work and play. Originally a shoe factory built in the 1900’s, it has since been transformed into 61 spacious studio apartments and 16 uniquely themed Airbnb studios. They have dedicated 2 of these studio apartments to the Artist-in-Residence program which is the home of two artists that are selected for each season of the year.

Open Call, Expressions of Interest, National Time and Tide Bell project

Time and Tide Bells are part of a unique, UK wide project initiated and created by artist and musician Marcus Vergette.  Its purpose is to celebrate and reinforce connections in local communities, between different parts of the country, between the land and sea, between ourselves and our environment.

In sites all around the coast of the UK the specially created bronze bells ring due to the impact of the waves at or around high tide.  The first bell was installed 10 years ago and in 2018 we received funding from the National Lottery Community Fund to expand the reach of the programme.  Currently 7 bells are installed and 7 sites are under development.
