CALL FOR ARTSTS | IAMWOMEN: Reimagining Her Light online group exhibit

Women United ART MOVEMENT is excited to announce a new call for art for a group online exhibit IAMWOMEN: REIMAGINING HER LIGHT!

Celebrating women of all different walks of life through their beauty and their elegance and their rage and their pleasure as it stretches across their art. The exhibition takes you on a journey across the world through the seasons of femininity from the perspective of women artists, regardless of race, education, location, career stage, marital status, etc.

Women United Art Movement seeks to feature original visual artwork from international women artists of all mediums. The IAMWOMEN virtual exhibition uses artwork, discourse, and live events, to showcase the art of womanhood in all its stages through various forms of mediums.

Emerging Leaders Summit

The Appalachian Trail Conservancy (ATC) is hosting a 2021 Emerging Leaders Summit! The Summit is a virtual experience with participation centered on young people aged 14-35 but open to all.

This summer’s Summit will strengthen connections between young leaders and their networks, spark momentum for youth movements at the intersection of nature and climate justice, and provide a space for artistic creation and performance utilizing the outdoors and the Appalachian Trail as a muse.

This is for call content. But it’s not a call for just any kind of content. This is a call for specific content, from specific people. This is a call for content from the lonely, the misunderstood, the anxious, the hopeful, the misgendered, the marginalized, the radical-in-other’s-eyes-but-not-so-radical-in-your-own, the politicized, the relatively unscathed, the visionaries.

This is a call for the unspoken memories, the thoughts that run rampant, the words that went unsaid, the spiral after spiral, the dirty, the clean, and the (absolutely) in between, the revolutionary, but then again, not so revolutionary after all.

In the midst of crisis, we seek to inspire and bring beauty to the foreground.

Women's Art Via Engagement

In addition to other subjects of interest to women,  artists are encouraged to create and submit art that tells a story about violence against women & girls -whether in the past or current. We gather art for display that shows how violence against women & girls is happening now, and how it's use in the past shows how women have been controlled through fear.

Rape keeps women from going outside and having a full life. Domestic violence keeps women in abusive relationships and away from their own personal power. Honor killings keep women from leading full lives & having options. These are just a few ways that women are controlled by violence.
