Down There

Approximately half of Earth's population has vulvar anatomy. The vulva includes, but is not limited to, the vaginal opening, labia majora, labia minora, urethral opening, mon pubis, and external clitoris. Historically relegated as shameful, dirty, or impure across cultures, bodies with vulvas and/or vaginas have been both misunderstood and insufficiently studied by scientists and doctors for centuries. Down There seeks to lift back imposed veils of stigma and mystery, bringing to the forefront conversations around vulvar anatomy, vocabulary, diversity, emotionality, etc. Visual arts media as well as writing, poetry, performance, and video submissions will all be considered.

CyFer Open Call

Researchers from the CyFer project, funded by PETRAS, UK, are examining cybersecurity, privacy, ethics and trust in FemTech. Female-oriented technologies (FemTech) promise to enable people to take control of their bodies and lives, helping them overcome the many existing challenges in medical care and research. There is a lack of data about women and other minority and minoritised groups in medical sciences. There is also bias and discrimination in health studies, data sets, and algorithms. FemTech solutions promise to centre these groups in the design and development of their systems. However, the FemTech industry remains largely unregulated.

Agora Digital Art Residency

Open Call for self-identified Women Artists working in New Media and XR

The Residency Lab is a digital residency opened to self-identified women artists, working in New Media Art with XR (AI, AR, MR, ML, VR, etc), challenging, exploring and engaging on the dis/embodiment, transhumanism and gender fluidity.

The Residency Lab is also a springboard to create a new project and to test new practices in a VR Mozilla Hubs venue.

That venue link belongs to the artist. You can continue developing your project after the residency. It is meant to invite people in such as curators, gallerists or collectors, to view your solo show.

How does it work?

Contemporary Activist Visual Art Performance with Martha Wilson

CAMP is a residential arts facility in the French Pyrenees. It's a place where great art is made, new movements are formed, new ideas are explored and groundbreaking people are nurtured. CAMP is located in Aulus les Bains, the last village before the France/Spain Pyrenean frontier chain. The location is spectacular - we are nestled at 750m above sea level, surrounded by snowcapped peaks over 3000m high, ancient forests and cascading waterfalls. There are eagles, lammergeiers, vultures, ibex and bears. Walk out of the residency, and within ten minutes you are completely alone in one of the most beautiful mountain landscapes in Europe.
