OPEN CALL FOR ART: REGIONAL JURIED EXHIBITION

In conjunction with our third annual Summer Arts Festival,

Contracommon announces a regional call for artists working in any media within a 100 mile radius of our space for a juried group exhibition to coincide with the festival this year.

Flowers | Open Call / Juried Exhibition

UPWARD Gallery invites artists worldwide to submit artwork to our juried art exhibition and competition, Flowers.

Flowers and the symbols attributed to them are one of those themes that permeate art from ancient times to modern painting. This is not surprising – after all, flowers are present in a person's life from his birth until his death, appearing at the most significant moments. And artists give flowers eternity, capturing them in their works.

All artists 18 and older are encouraged to submit their work in any medium, style, and genre.

Liminal Spaces | Juried Exhibition

UPWARD Gallery invites artists worldwide to submit artwork to our juried art exhibition and competition, Liminal Spaces.

One of the important themes in modern art has become liminal spaces, or spaces of transition, that is, disturbing and attractive spatial gaps that have acquired an independent meaning. They are read by the subconscious, even if we are not aware of this, and leave a deep emotional trace.
How is this theme reflected in your art? What figurative means do you use when working with liminal spaces in your works?

All artists 18 and older are encouraged to submit their work in any medium, style, and genre.

Windows to the Inside: Expressions of Mental Health

Woman Made Gallery (WMG) is seeking entries for "Windows to the Inside: Expressions of Mental Health,” a virtual group exhibition curated by Grace Heaney with support by WMG’s team. Artists may enter up to three works plus an artist statement related to the exhibition theme. At least one work per artist will be accepted. ALL accepted works with statements will be viewable online.

Women Antiracists Art Exhibit

In the continued fight against racism, the Women Soaring Project (WSP) has chosen to focus on the theme of Women Antiracists for its upcoming Spring 2022 art exhibit. The project invites 2-D art submissions (i.e., photography, painting, drawing, prints, mixed-media, etc.) honoring women who have fought ardently against racial inequality. The deadline to submit artwork is December 31, 2021. Art submissions will be displayed in WSP's virtual gallery. The three top artworks will be selected by a panel of jurors. These three artists will be awarded a $500 honorarium to speak at an online artist talk made possible by the MiraCosta College Foundation. WSP welcomes entries from all individuals regardless of experience or education.
