Call for Entry: Ship to Shore

We are delighted to share that Lyme Art Association, our historic arts organization dedicated to fostering the visual arts in Old Lyme, Connecticut, has transitioned to a digital submission process for all juried exhibitions. Founded in 1914 by members of the Old Lyme Art Colony, the Lyme Art Association remains committed to supporting and showcasing artists through our robust annual exhibition schedule.

Starting with our 2025 season, all artwork entries will now be submitted digitally, enhancing accessibility for artists and providing a more efficient process for both our organization and participants. We encourage you to explore our 2025 exhibition calendar on our website to see the full list of opportunities and deadlines.

Project Background

Portsmouth is a city surrounded by the sea. Changes to the health of the ocean have an impact on the city, from pollution to rising sea levels we are as affected as the creatures that live in the water.

A nine-month long project is working with people across the city to produce a large-scale immersive audio-visual installation and theatre performance inspired by the ‘Octopus Medicine’ poems by Becci Louise. This will encourage audiences to develop a connection with the ocean, both as an otherworld and an eco-system upon which our own, terrestrial lives, thoroughly rely.
