Material Dialogues: An Interview Series

IOAEA is thrilled to announce a new interview series, "Material Dialogues," dedicated to showcasing the innovative work of artists at the forefront of bio art, material exploration, and sustainable practices.

About Material Dialogues

"MateriaDialogues" provides a platform for artists to share their unique perspectives on the evolving relationship between human-made materials and the natural world. We aim to explore how artists are engaging with materials, challenging traditional notions of materiality, and developing sustainable practices that minimize environmental impact.

Sustainable Practices, Online Residency Program

We are delighted to announce the open call for our Spring/Summer Online Residency Program, inviting eco, social, and political artists worldwide to participate in a six-week online program from  April 7th till May 16th.

This 6-week online residency program aims to create an atmosphere of collaboration and connection, where international eco artists can come together and grow their practice in the areas of sustainability and expand their art practice through feedback and mutual support.

Portfolio Series: Local Materiality

Studio Montclair presents its 2023 Portfolio Series: Local Materiality, an exhibition of artworks that mix the sensorial with the cerebral and vary in scale from minuscule to vast, encompassing physical, geometric, psychological, topographical, and anthropological considerations.

The concept of materiality says that if we are to change the matter from which an artwork is created, then we may have invariably changed its meaning or message and what it seeks to express. In this exhibit we will be investigating artistic and critical approaches to materiality, focusing on the moments when materials become willful actors and agents within artistic processes.

Group Residency PLACE, PEOPLE and TIME: PUBLISHING AS AN ARTISTIC PRACTICE

The one-week residency will take place in Collemacchia, in Italy’s Molise region, home to The Museum of Loss and Renewal.
