Eligibility:

Calling all Bedroom Artists out there... Join the Bedroom Artists Collective, a not-for-profit, collaborative network of emerging artists.

We’ve named our next show ‘New Beginnings’ and we are asking artists to join us and create work along that very poignant theme for all of us.

The challenges of lockdown are real, but they also present opportunities to develop our creative and inner lives. Although we don’t have a venue or date right now, we can create in preparation for a time of re-opening.

Our exhibitions encompass all art-forms, from canvas to installation, sound and video, film and written poetry to live pieces, and everything in-between, so you’re welcome as an artist of any media.

If you want to apply to join our next show, see more information and please fill in the short application form.

We promise to keep you up to date with finding a physical venue (in the London area). As soon as our current situation ends, we’ll be on the hunt…

In the meantime we’ll want to highlight ‘work-in-progress’ and pieces from our artists  on our instagram, and potentially have an online show, to build momentum and interest.

Don’t Touch Your Face

So here we go, locked down and headed into the unknown. Nobody knows what the next hour holds right now. What we do know is that the creatives have a moment to capture and a story to tell. This show is currently planned to open in June. We are making this a long open call because we want you to capture this experience as it unfolds. Circumstances and information are going to be evolving or devolving on the fly and we want you to know, we are in it with you. One way or another, the show goes on.

This is an Open Call to ALL MEDIUMS and artists from ALL LOCATIONS.

Cutting edge Hermosa Beach gallery is looking for the best working artists to feature in an upcoming group exhibition at ShockBoxx Gallery in June of 2020. The top artist submissions will win a Cash Prize and Award Certificate, as well as receiving Featured Wall Space in the exhibition. Since the call is open to all mediums, we leave it up to you to choose your very best artwork that fits your own experience during this pandemic. We are interested in gathering a wide variety of experiences to paint a broader picture that will not only capture the perspective of the artist, but also of what it has been like to live through this as a human being and a culture as a whole.

Artworks will be judged based on creativity, originality, quality of work, composition, and overall artistic ability.

Competition will also be featured on ARTSY.

Cash Prizes to top three pieces selected by jury.

Jurors: Leah Perrino, Astrid Parker, Preston M. Smith, Scott Meskill and Mike Collins.

Call for Submissions: Big Screen Plaza #ArtOnScreen

Share

Country:

City:

Eligibility:

Are you or someone you know looking for artistic exposure in NYC?

Big Screen Plaza is now accepting submissions for #ArtOnScreen, a curated series of digital and artistic programming that will be displayed throughout 2020. We’re eager to showcase work from many creative disciplines. Please note this call may not be best-suited for every type of artist or artistic discipline. However, if it matches your current artistic goals, or your work, it could be a perfect opportunity — check the guidelines below before submitting!

About Big Screen Plaza:
Big Screen Plaza is a 10,000 sq. ft. public plaza in New York City that features a 30 ft. HD digital screen. Throughout the year, the screen displays a rotating collection of digital exhibitions, including photography, animation, visual art, and more. Located between the Empire State Building, Madison Square Garden, and the art galleries of Chelsea, the plaza’s central location provides an ideal venue for generating exposure for local and international artists to engage the New York community.

GUIDELINES:

• The #ArtOnScreen series is not exhibited with any audio, so all work submitted must be able to be viewed and enjoyed without any audio. That does not mean the files cannot contain audio, but please note all work will be silently displayed to the public, similar to the digital billboards in Times Square.
• Content must be suitable to be displayed publicly and viewed by an audience of all ages.
• Please don’t send works-in-progress. All work must be completed upon submission.
• Submissions are accepted on a year-round, rolling basis. Due to the quantity of submissions, please allow up to three months for your work to be reviewed. No calls, please.

BEST WORK TO SUBMIT:

• Photography – all types!
• Studio and Visual Art
• Fashion and Art Films
• Animation of all type that is not dependent on dialogue
• Timelapse or Aerial / Drone Footage
• International or local NYC content – we screen it all
• Cutting edge, contemporary work that can engage and excite the New York public

View Our Current List of Exhibitions on our website for Examples

WHAT NOT TO SUBMIT:

• Any work that features heavily-synced dialogue (Note on subtitles in FAQ)
• Any long-form video content. Artist exhibitions per artist are 10-30 minutes each.
• Documentary content (we love it, we just find it often doesn’t work as well in this format.)
• Work that is primarily corporate-branded or advertising-based (Unfortunately we’re not looking to display mere commercials or ad-based work, though there are exceptions to every rule.)
• Any work with graphic violence or nudity
• Sculpture or any performance-based work which requires in-person or 3D display. All exhibitions will only occur by being broadcast on our digital screen. Photos of sculpture could work, but we cannot install work into our space.
