Professional Training Program for Properties Technicians

Overview  

The properties technician Professional Training Program is designed for emerging properties craftspeople who wish to develop new skills under the mentorship of industry professionals. 

Participants will practice props construction, evaluate building methods and repurposing props with sustainability a strong consideration as a theatrical practice. 

The Summer Opera 2026 program runs alongside the Professional Training Program, giving participants opportunities to learn about the importance of props in rehearsal and performance, and practice constructing props for the program.

Overview  

This program offers skill building and practical experience for singers, stage managers, répétiteurs, stage directors, composers, and conductors. Participants will workshop new operas at various stages of development, collaborating directly with composers, librettists, and directors in a dynamic creative process.

Alongside the workshop experience, the program features masterclasses, coachings, seminars, mentorship, networking opportunities, and performances. These elements are designed to strengthen technical skills, deepen artistic practice, and foster the professional resilience needed for a sustainable career in opera.

Workshop for young singers

The workshop Il Gran Teatro del Mondo is conceived as a response to the growing need for specific professionalism for the Baroque repertoire, which has taken on a greater incidence in the calendars of European and Italian theaters.

Il Gran Teatro del Mondo will offer a training course at the end of which each participant will be valued in their own musical / historical / stylistic knowledge and experience that will help them in the development of their professional career.

The 12 selected candidates will be invited eventually to participate in the next productions of Auser Musici

Opera in the 21st Century is a performance-based, collaborative training experience for emerging opera professionals that truly challenges the conventions of opera performance, production, and design. 

This residency's focus is to develop young opera professionals with the skills and experience to take them to the next level of their careers and beyond. The multi-disciplinary program offers a unique opportunity to work with diverse artists, and is open to singers, instrumentalists, conductors, and stage directors.

Opera in the 21st Century is a performance-based, collaborative training experience for emerging opera professionals that challenges the conventions of opera performance, production, and design. 

The residency’s focus is to develop young opera professionals with the skills and experience to take them to the next level of their careers in an evolving industry. The multi-disciplinary program offers a unique opportunity to work with and learn from artists specializing in a range of areas including design, creation, composition, and production.
