Pattern has always attracted the eye, whether it be Crazy Quilts, subway tunnels, mosaic floors, wallpaper, fabric, fuzzy lines on TV, or architecture. In this exhibition inspired by Pattern & Design from the 1970s, artists use repetition of line, shape, color, and/or image in their work.  This in person exhibition runs June 23 to July 14, 2024 Entry Deadline: May 31, 2024.

One artist will be awarded a solo show at Shoebox Projects, Los Angeles

Shoebox Arts invites you to submit 2D work for this Southern California based open call exhibition at Shoebox Projects in Los Angeles, our alternative art space supports artists through curator opportunities, residencies, representation and exhibitions. Patterns, 2024 International Art Competition

The theme "Patterns" encourages the examination of repetitive forms, designs, or motifs, whether abstract or representational. Patterns provides a platform for artists to demonstrate their skill in utilizing repetitive elements, creating visually engaging and thought-provoking pieces. This theme celebrates the versatility and aesthetic appeal of patterns, offering artists an opportunity to showcase their unique perspectives within this competition.

AAP Magazine 30 Shadows

Our 30th printed issue of AAP Magazine will feature the best projects showcasing the theme "SHADOWS".

Mysterious, magical, intense, timeless, sometimes nostalgic... mastering the shadows in photography is an art in itself. It is a story in its own right, a unique form of expression.

Send us a cohesive body of work or portfolio - capturing the poetry and the power of shadows! The subject is totally up to you. Your photos can be in color or black and white, and be landscape, portraiture, street photography or any other genre. Any capture method or process, whether digital or analog, including monochromatic toning, is welcome.

Patterns Art Contest

Grey Cube Gallery proudly presents the third Patterns online art contest for the month of September 2022. Open to all artists worldwide over 18 years of age. Entries may include any work related to the Patterns theme (lines, shapes, textures). All visual art mediums (except video and sound) are allowed. All winning artists will receive a digital award certificate. Winning artwork (Best of Show) will be on the poster of the show. $16 for the 2 images of artwork, $30 for 4, $42 for 6, and $50 for up to 8. Deadline: September 8, 2022.

6th Annual “Patterns, Textures & Forms” Online Art Competition

Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery announces an art call for the gallery’s 6th Annual “Patterns, Textures & Forms” Online Juried Art Competition for the month of September 2022.  The gallery invites all 2D and 3D artists (including photography and digital arts) from around the world to make online submissions for possible inclusion in the Gallery’s October 2022 online group art exhibition.   

The gallery encourages entries from artists (including photography & digital arts) regardless of where they reside to apply to this competition by submitting their best interpretation of the “Patterns, Textures & Forms” theme. Artists are invited to submit their best representational and/or abstract art.
