Unearthing the Archive

Curator - Aidan Cowling (CANADA)

In a short amount of time, the Internet and digital technologies have dramatically  changed the way we live our lives, and we are beginning to register and quantify how  our daily contact with the digital world has altered the archive. How is technology being  mobilized today to preserve and present archive and history? This residency invites

participants to experience ANIMA Casa Rural through the lens of the archive, and  consider how can the historical archive be used to find a way forward and makes sense  of today.

Riposte

RIPOSTE organises exhibitions in unconventional spaces across London: warehouses, private houses, night clubs. Our next exhibition is on Friday 10th April and we are looking for artists to showcase their finished work and work-in-progress to a friendly queer audience!

All mediums are welcome: video, painting, sculpture, installations, etc. The format is an ephemeral nocturnal exhibition merging arts, performance and techno music. We want this place to be an evening of creation, exploration and discussion. All your ideas are valid and we can help you make it reality.

There is no complex intermediaries and no commercial pressure, 100% sales go directly to the artist.
