Open Call R.A.R.O. Residency 2023

R.A.R.O. is an itinerant residency program that allows foreign and argentinian artists to develop their projects in the different studios that R.A.R.O.´s team offers around the city of Buenos Aires.

Each artist can work in a minimum of two studios for the period of the residency, deepening in one or more techniques, according to the project that they are going to develop.

We are also offering residency programs in Curatorial Projects, Theater and Performance and Ceramics and Pottery.

During their residency, artists may show their work, get in contact with local artists, curators and collectors among other art related enthusiasts. At the end of the residency, artists would have the opportunity to show their final work either as an Open studio or exhibition.

Open Call R.A.R.O. Residency 2021

RARO. is a residency program created to generate spaces for exchange, creation and dissemination. It introduces a format that has the peculiarity of being itinerant, receives artists, curators, and foreign managers and from the Argentine provinces so that they can develop their projects in the different Ateliers R.A.R.O. of the city of Buenos Aires, and in parallel it generates talks, meetings, visits and samples that complement each project

Our residency program has an open call to carry out projects in person in 2021.

Island Going

In partnership with ‘Ocean Guides’ * and building on the success of 3 previous Land and sea based residencies for An Lanntair within an established residency programme, this Summer’s ‘Island Going’ residency runs for 11 days – six days at sea and five days on land, for 5 participants, offering the potential to explore the ocean and island environments of the Outer Hebrides, including the St.Kilda archipelago,

In addition to this our residencies come with an ethos of supporting the communities that they are based in, utilising local knowledge, services and expertise as well as providing a window into the language and culture of the islands.

Residencies in Latin America (Colombia and Mexico City)

Month-long residencies in Colombia or Mexico City. We offer identical programmes in both countries.

Fully-equipped, private, modern apartment. Separate studio space for production. Gallery space for exhibition of works.

Full artistic and logistical support given to the research and production stages of your work or project.

Full introduction to the local artistic community, if desired.

Cost to artist: $1,500 US Dollars per month. This does not include travel or production costs. It does include basic amenities, staple foods and a comfortable, creative environment. Both locations are large enough to accomodate partners and small families.

Bespoke residencies. Programmes are year-round. All disciplines, techniques and media considered.

Tribeca, New York artist in residency program

Shane Townley Gallery is a large gallery in the heart of TriBeCa, the gallery was founded in 2009 by Shane and Adela Townley. The gallery represents national and internationally established artists through special programming and exhibitions in its 5000 sq ft space on Broadway. Every year the gallery features a residency program and chooses 4 artists to show throughout a month in the calendar year. We are currently holding an artist call for submission for the resedncy programming for the 2020 year. By submitting art works by artists from around the world there is no submission fees and the residency program is 100% supported by the Townley arts foundation 501C3.
