Woodstock NY Creative Residency Summer 2020

Byrdcliffe Artist Residencies offer uninterrupted time and space for creatives in all disciplines. Our serene mountain community is 2.5 hours north of NYC in Woodstock NY with residencies open to individuals, teams, and couples at all stages of their career. Byrdcliffe’s AiR program is particularly beneficial to those who find it restorative to live in a community environment surrounded by natural beauty. Artists are invited to participate in optional programming such as open studios, wellness workshops, studio visits, field trips, and communal dinners, or are free to work in solitude during their entire stay.

1 Month Residencies are offered for individuals and couples with private and communal housing available.  Each resident receives a private studio and living space. 

Tao Hua Tan 6th International Artists Residency

We have the pleasure to inform you that the 6th International Artist Retreat and residence workshop will take place in Tao Hua Tan, Anhui Province, China, from May 10th thru May 28th, 2020. As decided by the organizers, about 30 artist from China, and from different countries of the world, will be invited to participate. The participating artists will be selected by the organizer's curators:

Gordan Novak owner of Novak Graphics Inc. printmaking studio and publisher from Admiral, Saskatchewan, Canada

Liu Jian, artist, art consultant and curator from Toronto, Canada and Beijing China

or proposed by the art-world professionals (art critics, galleries, museum curators, university lecturers...).

CAMP Announces 2020 Program

CAMP, a high-altitude residential arts school in the French Pyrenees, has begun announcing its 2020 program of workshops. Now entering its third year of activity, the newly announced program includes five-day residential workshops in music, visual art, filmmaking, photography, VR and literature, with masterclasses led by such luminaries as Matthew Herbert, Julia Kent, Aviva Rahmani, Chris Watson, Simon Armitage, Gabrielle Bell, Roedelius, Phill Niblock, Elliott Sharp and others.

Natural Disaster Relief for Visual Artists Fellowship

The Byrdcliffe Art Community has received a generous grant from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation for visual artists living/working in North America (including Mexico and Puerto Rico) who have been displaced or otherwise affected by a natural disaster. This grant includes artists affected by the earthquakes in Mexico, wildfires in California, hurricanes in Puerto Rico, Florida, and Texas, tornadoes, and other natural disasters. Please note that destruction of a home or studio by extremes of weather (e.g. pipes bursting due to freezing, etc) are not covered by this grant.
