Inspired by Rumi's timeless words, "The wound is the place where the Light enters you," the collection invites artists to interpret emotional, physical, and spiritual wounds as gateways to illumination, strength, and beauty. Through diverse media and personal narratives, the exhibition becomes a sanctuary where brokenness is not hidden—but honored as a source of light.

DEADLINE EXTENDED: Finding My Way | Call for Students iN IL & IN

Exhibition Description:

This Call is open to undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled in a university in Illinois or Indiana, as well as students who have graduated in Spring 2025.

Woman Made Gallery invites artists to submit work for Finding My Way, an exhibition exploring the profound transformations that shape our lives—particularly the journey from childhood to adulthood. Through this theme, we seek artwork that captures the physical, emotional, and psychological changes that define these formative years.

Elizabeth R. Raphael Founder’s Prize and Exhibition

In celebration of its 25th anniversary in 1997, Contemporary Craft established a $5,000 prize for excellence in the field of contemporary craft.

This triennial award, which is given in conjunction with a catalogue, video profile and juried exhibition, is funded by the daughters of Elizabeth R. Raphael, the founder of Contemporary Craft and a nationally known figure in the contemporary art scene for many decades. Prizes are selected by medium, with the designated medium changing with each award.

MUSE - Metamorphosis

Metamorphosis - ' after' the 'form'. The caterpillar 'weaves a cloak' of a cacoon to becomes a butterfly. A divine metaphor to remind us that change is imprinted, change is required, and it reveals unseen capabilitities. Fear and thrill, longing and delusion, retreat and awakening,  accompany the turmoil of the senses, exalted by the urge of the individual...or the world to transform.
