SUPERNATURAL WOMEN

The theme Supernatural Women opens up questions of culture, history, legend, politics, femininity and womanhood. Participants may decide to focus only on a tiny segment of the theme for their work. For example, they might focus on just one woman. Or, they might look at a group of supernatural women. They may opt not to focus on specific women, but on a female element of the supernatural that is widely known, or that could be invented by the artist.

The content of discussions during the residency will be determined by the work undertaken by participants. Some participants might plan to produce deeply conceptual work. For others the process will be more practical. Others will work on a mixture of both.

WINDOWS INTO THE VIRTUAL AND AUGMENTED REALITY

Call for Exhibition│Accepted media: Photography, Digital Visual Design

Group Exhibition in Rome or Milan city. February 2021

-

Since the Renaissance period the concept of frame itself has been a reference to the idea of a window that opens to external worlds, to others, and to what is beyond reality. With the invention of the photographic medium, and cinematography later, the first virtual reality constructions come to be. These are capable of involving the recipient / spectator in a more participatory way thanks to an aesthetic and narrative arrangement that favors a direct, and at the same time illusory, experience of a specular real world.

Virtual Residency

VIRTUAL RESIDENCY

Together, separately.

For artists in every corner of the cosmos

Daily meetings, discussion, shared spirit, structure

Dates now released throughout June and July

“amazing and so full of flexibility, creativity, focus, inspiration, and amazing people” - feedback on the residency

Each virtual residency takes place over the course week. During that week we meet online twice a day, keep in touch through WhatsApp and present our work to one another - talk about ideas, struggles and share experiences. Six artists take part in each group. In our experience, residents form strong relationships that continue on into the future.
