Prisma Art Prize - 11th Edition, Rome

Il Varco is proud to host the 11th edition of Prisma Art Prize, in partnership with Contemporary Cluster,  Biafarin, ArtRights, Artuu and Vivivacolors, Atelier Montez and ArtUp a quarterly art contest with €2000 yearly cash prize, more than €3000 in service prizes and the possibility to be exhibited at Contemporary Cluster gallery in Palazzo Brancaccio, Rome, in 2023, one of the most innovative art institutions in the international contemporary panorama. 

 

The prize is under the artistic direction of Marco Crispano and the curatorship of Domenico De Chirico and has a jury panel of professionals from different backgrounds in visual arts.

Open Call to The Mobile Library Magazine Volume 2 Issue 4: Sci-fi

The Mobile Library provides a multi-digital exhibiting experience for artists and writers to showcase their work during the pandemic closures. Each publication is unique, pairing 6 artists and 6 writers together at different stages in their career to build a collaborative experience.

We are excited to announce Volume 2 will take on themes of the supernatural, spiritual, and mythological with Issue 4 seeking 6 artists and 6 writers that explore our theme of 'Sci-fi'. Themes include - but are not limited to - technology, dystopia, extraterrestrial or alien, robots, steampunk, cyberpunk, futurism, virtual reality, inventive languages, space exploration, time travel, super heroes, and parallel universes!

Extinction Virtual Exhibition

As we move into our second quarter of 2022, I am thrilled to announce that the Syzygy Project's new theme will be: EXTINCTION! The Syzygy Project will be spending the next three months diving deep into this incredibly important theme, exploring it through the lens of art, activism, and conservation.

We invite artists from all creative backgrounds to consider the species and ecosystems that are disappearing at a rapid rate around the globe. What is your connection to these species, what can we all do to protect those who are vulnerable to the changing climate and how art can serve as a voice for change? 

All selected works will be displayed in a virtual exhibition on The Syzygy Project website and featured on our social media.

5-50 Gallery Open Call - Winter / Spring 2022

5-50 Gallery is inviting all artists to apply to our Open Call! All submissions will be considered for various exhibitions coming season. 

Artists are welcome to submit works in any medium. Please upload 3 – 5 images, information on the works you are submitting, your Artist Statement and Resume. 

Works need to be ready to hang, and works on paper must be framed. Artist are responsible for delivery of work to and from the gallery.
