Banff Artist in Residence Emerging - Winter 2022

Overview

Banff Artist in Residence (BAiR) Emerging is an immersive program that offers studio practice, production facilities access and mentorship for visual artists in the early stages of their careers.

BAiR Emerging combines the artistic freedom of a self-directed residency with the supportive benefits of an organized program.  As well as having the space to make, research, and experiment, participants are a part of a community of emerging artists committed to developing and expanding their practice. Artists will benefit from the insight provided by guest faculty through studio visits and lectures.

$550.00 Innovate Grants — Call for Artists + Photographers

Summer 2021 Open for Submissions — Innovate Grant  awards (2) $550.00 grants each quarter, to one Visual Artist and one Photographer. In addition to receiving a grant award, winners will be featured and recognized on our website and join a growing community of vibrant and talented artists. For more information and to apply visit https://innovateartistgrants.org

Innovate Grant supports artists and photographers through quarterly grants. We've simplified the grant process, so that artists and photographers can focus on making their innovative work. The work should speak for itself and our application reflects that.

"First step" - A multidisciplinary Zine

After a long pandemic that is still ongoing, it's time to take a small "first step" towards something new. The theme of our Zine's first issue is called  "First step" for a reason. We don't want to focus on isolation and quarantine anymore, we want to celebrate creativity in its nascent form. "First step" is open to any interpretation. It could mean the first poem you wrote, the first picture from a larger project, the first time you tried a new technique and succeeded, or even the first words from your novel. We want to encourage you to share your creation with confidence.

We accept the following formats: photography, painting, design, sculpture, poetry, and short essays.
