Women

AAP Magazine 23 Women

Since the medium's inception, women have been the subject of photographers but also experimented photography as a tool of documentation and a space of self-expression. This 23rd edition of AAP Magazine encourages photographers to celebrate all the important things women do.

Send us a cohesive body of work or portfolio - capturing the essence, hard-work, beauty, resilience, kindness... of women! The subject is completely open, it can be fashion, nude, documentary, portrait, sports, fine art, commercial.. Any capture method or process, whether digital or analog, including monochromatic toning, is welcome.

Winners will receive $1,000 in cash awards, their winning image(s) or full portfolio published in AAP Magazine #23, extensive press coverage and global recognition.

Slackline Storytellers

As part of our mission to tell the stories of women aged 35+, we’re looking for YOUR story.

In honour of International Women’s Day 2021, we’re compiling some of our favourite stories of women 35+ who have inspired, challenged or uplifted you into a multi-chapter storytelling film.

Some examples:

Are you female-identifying aged 35+ with an inspiring story of your own?

Do you come from a family with a strong matriarch you’d like to tell us about?

Is there a teacher, mentor or friend who deserves a shout? Tell us about them!

Does your culture have an uplifting story of women that we need to hear?

Videos should be storytelling-style (we’re not looking for films, but you’re welcome to interpret creatively!)

Her Weight in Gold

The following mediums are accepted: painting, photography, drawing, sculpture, digital, prints, fiber art, collage or installation art.
