Women Antiracists Art Exhibit

In the continued fight against racism, the Women Soaring Project (WSP) has chosen to focus on the theme of Women Antiracists for its upcoming Spring 2022 art exhibit. The project invites 2-D art submissions (i.e., photography, painting, drawing, prints, mixed-media, etc.) honoring women who have fought ardently against racial inequality. The deadline to submit artwork is December 31, 2021. Art submissions will be displayed in WSP's virtual gallery. The three top artworks will be selected by a panel of jurors. These three artists will be awarded a $500 honorarium to speak at an online artist talk made possible by the MiraCosta College Foundation. WSP welcomes entries from all individuals regardless of experience or education.

Women Artists Exhibition

art629 Gallery is currently accepting art submissions by women artists in celebration of Women’s History Month. We will be hosting an exhibition of work by women artists with an opening reception on Saturday March 7, 2020 from 7-10pm which will be free and open to the public.

2020 is the 100-year anniversary of the Suffrage Movement in America. To honor this occasion we are curating a show focused on women’s rights, past and present. We are looking for art that portrays gender equality as well as art that celebrates women. We are also looking for work that represents gender stereotypes and brings awareness to oppression and objectification of women which still exists today. Local artist Brittany James will be curating this exhibition.
